Together with educators, creatives, activists, organizers and other leaders we will advance racial and social justice for Our Schools, through the power of Our Stories and organize for Our Future.

The Conference on Racial and Social Justice is presented by NEA’s Center for Racial and Social Justice. The purpose of the conference is to provide a unique space for educators, students, parents and families, organizers, community members and leaders to unite for the advancement of Justice in Education.

Request for Proposals

The 2026 Conference on Racial and Social Justice will provide a unique space for educators, students, parents and families, organizers, community members, and leaders to unite for the advancement of justice in public education. Through interactive workshops and other sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to access information and resources, plan, strategize, and engage on issues that impact educational opportunities for communities of color, the LGBTQ+ community, women, and people with disabilities.

We are seeking proposals for interactive workshops that will help us meet our goals of building community, organizing for power, making space for innovation and creativity to sustain ourselves, and working to fulfill the future we envision for students, schools, and our communities. In addition, we seek sessions that provide participants the space to expand their knowledge on critical education justice issues while also developing skills to help make impactful changes for public education.

Please also note that we are offering a poster session as a new presentation format option this year. NEA members who engage in organizing and activism will have the opportunity to display their projects on a poster and talk with small groups of people. The poster session will offer NEA members the opportunity to share their organizing and activism with small groups of members to inspire the building of coalitions.

Join us as we work to promote, protect, and strengthen public education together. Please share this request broadly. Proposals can be submitted to https://bit.ly/2026-crsj-rfp by the deadline of October 17, 2025.

Questions can be directed to NEA’s CRSJ Presenters’ e-mail address at [email protected].

Through my union, I have been able to do a lot more things, build my network and access more resources. Last summer I was at the Racial and Social Justice Conference. I got to meet the most amazing teachers who are like-minded. It was like I was at the Oscars!
