Call Action: Oppose the Republican budget resolution

Calling your elected officials is one of the most effective ways to make your voice heard.

Right now, Congress is debating extreme budget cuts to pay for tax cuts that will benefit billionaires.

Losing federal funding will mean:

  • Educators will get fired and class sizes will get larger
  • Students will lose access to free and reduced school meals
  • Students with ADHD, autism, or other disabilities may lose programming, leaving their parents without support.
  • The cost of career technical programs and higher education will go up

Plus, they are also threatening to cut Medicaid, which helps students get access to life-saving care and also helps pay for school-based services that benefit the entire student population—including nurses, psychologists, and audiologists.

Students and families can't afford to pay for billionaires' tax cuts.

When you fill out this form, you will be connected to the offices of your Senators and House representative.

Tell the person who answers who you are and to not cut federal funding for public schools. Share how funds help your school, from helping to lower class sizes and supporting students with disabilities to feeding hungry students so they can learn.

You can also look up how much funding your congressional district gets here. Remember: the most effective messages are personal, but data can drive home the impact of education cuts on students and your public school.
