Right now, Congress is debating extreme budget cuts to pay for tax cuts that will benefit billionaires.
Losing federal funding will mean:
- Educators will get fired and class sizes will get larger
- Students will lose access to free and reduced school meals
- Students with ADHD, autism, or other disabilities may lose programming, leaving their parents without support.
- The cost of career technical programs and higher education will go up
Plus, they are also threatening to cut Medicaid, which helps students get access to life-saving care and also helps pay for school-based services that benefit the entire student population—including nurses, psychologists, and audiologists.
Students and families can't afford to pay for billionaires' tax cuts.
