Take Action
Tell your senators and representative to cosponsor the Full-Service Community Expansion Act of 2023.
Many students come to school weighed down by worries or unmet needs that even adults have a hard time managing. Full-service community schools transform traditional public schools into hubs that mobilize students, staff, families, and community members to create and enact a plan to strengthen their school and community.
High-quality teaching, enriched learning opportunities, and mentoring and support services—such as access to health care, mental health care, and food before, during, and after school—are some features of full-service community schools. But each school is different, because each community has different needs.
The Full-Service Community School Expansion Act of 2023 (S. 3360/H.R. 6576) would invest $3.65 billion over the next five years to expand the community schools serving low-income students, including in rural communities.
