Core Values

Acceptance, without exceptions.
Only when every student can attend school in the full confidence of being welcomed as they are, will we have created education justice.
Every student deserves a safe, welcoming, affirming learning environment. We provide the tools for educators to make it happen.

Implementing Racial Justice

Implementing racial justice in our schools means engaging educators, students, co-conspirators and allies to foster real dialogue, examine policies and practices, and mobilize and take action.

Preventing Violence & Bullying

Every student deserves a safe, welcoming, affirming learning environment that is free from bullying. NEA takes a strong stance against any form of bullying.

Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth

LGBTQ+ students are more likely to face bullying and harassment, leading to poor grades, higher dropout rates, and homelessness. Safe and affirming schools are a core element of student success.

If we don’t achieve racial justice in our schools, we cannot expect to achieve it in our society. It begins with us.
